Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)

Description:

The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is a nationwide telephone survey of adults that asks a wide range of health-related questions. The Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) allows query of the BRFSS dataset by question, year, and geography (county, public health region, MSA, etc.). For small population groups and rural areas, data is often not available or suppressed to protect privacy.

Once on the BRFSS page, click on the '2011-2018 Data Tables' tab at the top of the visualization to see the data by county or other sub-state geography.
